The fact that Boditronics Express Whey thickens a little when you heat it helps make this a ‘not naughty but feels naughty’ hot chocolate treat! It was a real game changer for me in the heat of dieting, because it makes one of those cosy treats you need, a huge serving of protein and its great for the whole family.

This recipe aims to create the best hot chocolate experience with a thick and creamy texture. Using coconut milk or dairy-free milk as options can enhance the richness and creaminess of the drink. This hot chocolate feels so indulgent with a thick and creamy texture. This is a lovely twist to your go-to post (or pre) workout protein shake.

Tip:

Add ¼ tsp cinnamon and some mini marshmallows for an optional Christmas twist.

Ingredients for Healthy Hot Chocolate

These ingredients are perfect for making delicious homemade hot chocolate, allowing you to customize the flavour and enjoy the health benefits:

1 tsp Cocoa powder or 1 tsp raw cacao powder

1-2 tsp Sucralose sweetener or 1 tsp maple syrup

28g (1 Scoop) Boditronics Chocolate Express Whey

100ml skim cow’s milk (or whole milk, almond, coconut, full-fat coconut milk, oat milk, unsweetened almond milk, soy milk, dairy-free milk, or any other milk I may not have mentioned)

50ml warmed water

1 tsp cocoa

1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Whipped cream (optional)

Method:

Place 50ml warm water in a Boditronics shaker.

Add to this the Boditronics Chocolate Express Whey, cocoa powder, and 1 tsp of sweetener (and also the sweet spice if you want a tummy cuddle). You can also make a peppermint hot chocolate by adding a few drops of peppermint extract.

Shake up the mixture and put it into a cup.

In a jug put 100ml of your favourite milk (we used skim milk because it makes a nice thick froth) or dairy-free milk if you prefer.

Place this in the microwave for 45 seconds (you can heat in a small saucepan if you’d prefer).

When it’s warm, add the remaining 1 tsp of sweetener or maple syrup and whisk the milk to make a froth.

Now pour the Chocolate mixture in to a mug or glass and top with the milk

Decorate with the marshmallows. This healthy hot chocolate recipe is absolutely loved, and is an amazing recipe. My husband loves it!- If you want to add a naughty edge, why not top with chopped dark chocolate chips or chocolate shavings?
